the best part about this, without a doubt, is Jeremy Renner having no idea at all how to celebrate a win at football.

IS THAT FUCKING GORDON RAMSAY

is that James McAvoy in the middle

that is the most random assortment of people I have ever had the pleasure of laying eyes on

My mom is so excited for the new season of Doctor Who that she made a TARDIS appear in our living room. (It’s bigger on the inside)

How will you be celebrating the premiere of Series 8?

as soon as i heard about princess tiana appreciation week, i had to draw something for it. tiana is my baby and here’s why! dont delete this cause its tiana appreciation week and im about to appreciate her like crazy:
Tiana works two jobs, getting little to no sleep, so she can fulfill her father’s dream of owning a restaurant. Unlike some of the classic princesses, she actively and tirelessly pursues her dream in order to get what she wants. and she keeps a positive, optimistic attitude too~

one of the best themes of the movie is that anything you dream can come true, but you need to work hard to make it happen.
the movie teaches kids to be determined, optimistic, and hardworking, and prepares them for the truth that your dreams dont just come to you.

tiana doesnt look to her prince to solve her problems. instead, he is inspired by her and learns from her, quickly falling in love with her and deciding that instead of marrying for money, he will help her achieve her dream of owning a restaurant.

they get married intending to remain frogs for the rest of their life. they love each other that much.
also i really like how in this movie disney didnt end with the wedding and a “happily ever after”. instead it shows them working possibly years after their marriage to raise money for the restaurant, and they’re still happy in the marriage then.
tiana achieved her dream of getting her father’s restaurant as a woman, a black woman, in the 1920’s, and she didnt rely on a man or wait around for a fairy godmother.
tiana earned her happily ever after.

ANNIE - Official Trailer (2014)

I’m not gonna lie, I teared up a little bit when I saw the trailer.

I’m sooo excited for this… cheese fest and all!

this is so freaking adorable and yes i cried. I can’t wait.

I CAN’T WAIT

So I’ll probably get slammed for this (because, tumblr) but here goes anyway.  Ask box is open, slam away.

When the original Little Orphan Annie was written, chronologically we were a lot closer to a time where there was a strong bias against Irish people.  By making Annie red haired, it was implied that she was of Irish descent, and by extension, the audience would have inherently known that was part of the bias against her.

Changing Annie’s race to African American replicates this same dynamic in modern society, and that’s a big part of why so many people were upset by it.  A BLACK orphan?!  Nooooooo, keep her white and red haired and cute I DON’T WANT TO DEAL WITH HOW THIS IS MAKING ME UNCOMFORTABLE.

Casting Annie as black in 2014 is a much more true to the original character than casting her as a caucasian red head.
